Childhood TV Programmes

Hello people!

So, long story short, today has been a pretty boring day. And so, I was using my laptop, when suddenly out of nowhere, memories of my favourite TV show as a kid popped into my head. I just can't contain my excitement, so I'm gonna spill it out here. I mean, what's better than having a one-way conversation with your laptop, right? :)

So basically, George Shrinks is a not-so-normal kid, because his body is like really small, probably only 10cm tall. The story is mostly about his 'adventures' at home, because he's like really small and I guess life would be pretty tough if you were 10cm tall. I used to think it was a British TV series, but I did a little search on the internet, and I found out that it's actually from Canada.

Babar is an elephant, and this TV series follows the story of Babar, the King of the Elephants, his family, and his friends. And once again, it turns out that Babar is also from Canada. Oh, and I found out that a new sequel of Babar was launched last year, it's called "Babar and The Adventures of Badou". At first I thought that Oh wow, this is great! I wanna watch this! So then, I went to Youtube and found out that it's 3D animated! I know that because it's in 3D, it's supposed to be better, but it's kind of disturbing for me. I prefer the classic version, it just seems better.

By the way, I love the theme song XD

The boy wearing the red shirt is (of course) Noddy. Believe it or not, he's a taxi driver! On his left (from here, it's the right side) there's Big-Ears, he's a really wise man, and then there's Bumpy Dog, and then there's Sly and Gobo, whom if I'm not mistaken, are elves. They're the villains in this story. And then there's also Dinah Doll, she's a shopkeeper, and she sells all kinds of things. In his left there's Tessie Bear, Noddy's best friend, and then there's a guy (I don't remember him) and a monkey (the only thing I remember about the monkey is that he's the mischievous type. And then there's Mr Plod, the town's police officer.

(The title is linked to the IMDB page, but unfortunately, there's basically nothing at all there :\ )

The boy in the blue and white striped pajamas is Andy Pandy. The one in the middle is Loopy Loo (I don't know whether I typed it correctly...) and the teddy bear is I don't know who (I can't remember the name.. if he had one). I don't remember much about this, but all I can remember is that Andy can cook very well. Oh wait, or is it Loopy Loo? I can't remember :| Or maybe none of them can cook. :?

Tweenies is (I think) about four children; Bella, Milo, Fizz and Jake, who go to school (or playgroup maybe) together, and they sing a lot. The one on the left is (I think) Max, he's one of the teachers. The blue headed one is Bella, I think she's the oldest one, she's the tallest one, and she is super bossy. The one with the orange head is Jake, he's the youngest and shortest one, and if I'm not mistaken he worries a lot and is sort of a cry-baby. The one with the yellow head is Fizz, she's the girly type. The one with the purple head is Milo, he's the sporty, out going type of person, and he likes to mess around with the others. The one on the right is Judy, she's one of the teachers. The red dog is Doodles! Oh, if you want to hear a lot of English kid songs, like, the wipers on the bus go swish swish swish, swish swish swish, swish swish swish or heads, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes, you can watch this. As I said earlier, they sing a lot of songs.

I also thought this one was from UK, but no. It's actually from Australia. I should've realised there was a difference in the accent, but I guess when you're a kid you don't really recognise that :| Especially because I'm Indonesian, my mother tongue is not English. Anyway, Hi-5 is a show that consists of 5 people, I've forgotten most of their names but I do remember that my favourite person from Hi-5 was Nathan, which is the guy wearing the yellow shirt. I think Hi-5 is actually aimed at really young kids, because I remember them teaching kids how to count.

Aaand... That's all! There are probably some other TV programmes that I watched, like Postman Pat, Bob the Builder, but they weren't really my favourite shows so I'm not listing them here.

By the way, I got through the first round of selections for the AFS Student Exchange Programme, and I already did the interview for the 2nd round of selections. There were 2 interviews, one was an English interview, and another one was a personality interview. The English interview is probably more about testing on whether you're confident speaking in English, and the personality interview, is, well, to get to know more about you. I think it went well. I hope it did. The results will be out on 12th of June... I can't wait! :D
