Summer in Portland!

Dear readers of my blog:

What's up guys? Today is Saturday, and Summer quarter begins on Monday! I literally cannot believe that I've been here for 6 months. I know this sounds cliché, but time really has passed by quickly. Soon, it'll be Fall quarter, then Winter, then Spring, and before I know it, I'll be graduating! From what I've heard, being an adult kinda sucks, so I'm really trying to cherish my time as a teenager while it lasts.

Anyway, as the title suggests, I went to Portland! Why Portland? Well, it's not so far away from Washington state, which makes it a pretty famous holiday destination for Green River students. Moreover, they don't apply taxes there!

It was only for 3 days and 2 nights though. Nevertheless.... it was amazing. There were 8 of us: Firda, Dea, Carol, Smita, Fadhil, Andi, Dary and I. We took the 7.30am Amtrak train from Auburn on Saturday, 16th June, and arrived in Portland at about 11-ish or 11.30. My first impression on Portland: Wow, this city is way cooler than Seattle. I'm serious though. Look at the recycling bins! I've never seen one as creative as that. It looks amazing. Portland really is a hipster city, huh? The reason I'm saying this is because just before I left Auburn, my hostmum made this remark: "Oh you're going to Portland? That's a really hip city!"And true enough.... Portland really is hip. Another observation I made was the demography of Portland. Seattle and its surroundings has quite a variety of races. On the other hand... I have to say that there weren't many black or latino people in Portland. Most of them were white.

After we arrived, I'm not exactly sure what we did.. We kinda just walked around the city, I think we were trying to find our hotel? But I'm not exactly sure because hotels don't accept check-ins until usually 2 or 3pm, right? Oh, and there was another problem. We didn't really have a map of Portland, which made things kinda hard. Usually they would have maps of the city in train stations and airports right; you know, the ones with all the attractions and good places to eat. But there weren't any of those at the train station. Luckily, in this technologically advanced world we live in, there's this thing called a 'GPS', and luckily, that 'GPS' is available on most phones. Hence, that's how we survived. And hence, that's another reason why I love technology. Getting back to my main point.... We passed the Portland Farmers market on the way, and there were loads of people there.

At about that time (which was around 1pm), most of us had become pretty hungry, and you know how people are when they're angry right? Yeah, people can get a bit aggressive and annoying when they're hungry. It's like you can't do anything properly until you get something in your stomach. Using Dea's iPhone, we looked for restaurants....but without success. Luckily, we spotted a Safeway, and we just decided to eat there. Safeway is not exactly the place you would want to eat when you're on a holiday in another state, but we were hungry and we needed food immediately. So... yeah.

After that, we went to the Oregon Historical Society! We actually weren't intending to go there. There's a park across the building, and we were just sitting there wondering what we should do. We actually didn't realize there was a museum across the street! We were taking pictures in front of this horse statue when a lady came up to us and said that just for that day, there were free admissions into the museum! Sweet! So we went in and looked around. It turned out the lady who told us about the museum worked in the souvenir shop. Hahaha.

This is my attempt at planking, btw.

And this is my attempt at teapotting! The girl on the right is Dea, if you were wondering.

(From left to right: Me, Dea)

After that, we went to our hotel and checked in. We stayed at Downtown Value Inn, which I would say is a pretty decent motel if you're looking for cheap accommodation. Obviously, as college students we have priorities which do not include staying in expensive hotels, and anyways, even if we had the money... why should we stay in an expensive hotel if we're gonna be out most of the time?

After we settled in, we left once again. This time, we went to the Japanese Garden. I have one word to describe it: wonderful. It was pretty cool, and obviously, it might differ here and there from what Japan is actually like, but I thought it was pretty cool. It has pretty cheap admission too, so if you're visiting Portland, go visit the Japanese Garden!

(From top left to top right: Dary, Carol, Dea, Firda, Smita, Andi. From bottom left to bottom right: Me, Fadhil)

(Carol made a remark about this scene as one of those free wallpapers Windows give you haha)

After that, we went to the International Rose Test Garden which is just a couple of minutes from there. Likewise, it was wonderful!

And with that, I have wrapped the first day. We started off our second day in Portland by visiting OMSI, which is short for: Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. I guess you could say there's a lot of science-related stuff (as suggested by the name). It's worth visiting while you're in Portland.

(This is basically a miniature of one of the planets... I forgot which, though)

(This is one of the brain teasers there. You have to make the string go through all of the holes, but the string can only pass through each hole once. I spent 15 minutes trying to solve it but I couldn't. It's so freaking challenging that I might try to solve it right after I finish writing this blog post....)

After that, we spent the rest of the day shopping at Woodburn Factory Outlet! And man, that factory outlet is huge! I got some pretty good deals over there. I didn't really buy much, because (1) I didn't feel that I needed to buy them and (2) I knew that I don't really have that much money to spend. My favorite item from that shopping trip was this cool denim jacket/blouse. I don't have one yet so that adds to my wardrobe! And with that, the second day of my holiday in Portland has ended.

The third day was basically not such a good day. You know how it just feels sad cause it's the last day of the trip? Anyway, on the morning of the last day, Smita and Dary went to PNCA (Pacific Northwest College of Art) while the rest of us went to Honey's Cafe to have breakfast! We actually wanted to go there on the first day of our trip, but it was closed, so we decided to go on the last day. I have to say that it was pretty decent food for a pretty inexpensive price. It was nice.

After that, we went back to the hotel to check out, and then we headed for Voodoo Doughnuts! It's basically this really famous doughnut store in Portland. I'm not sure as to why it's famous though, but I just bought it as sort of a souvenir for my hostfam.

We then decided to pay a visit to the Chinese Gardens, but when we arrived, we realized that we had to pay to get in, and some of us weren't ready to spend an extra buck. Hence, we went straight for the train station.

(The picture above is a photo of the train station--Union Station. Somehow I think it looks like the train station in Jogja)

(The inside of the train station)

After about, say, 40 minutes at the train station, some of us got a bit restless and decided to go out for a walk. It was still around 1pm and our train leaves at 2.30pm. So Dary, Carol, Smita and I decided to go to Powell's City of Books. It's this really famous and huge bookstore in Portland. Honestly, if I could, I would've spent a whole day there. There's just so many awesome books to look at. Some of the books there are used, so you can get them for really cheap prices. True enough... we were nearly late. We nearly missed the train. I'd say that we got carried away at the bookstore. As a result, we had to walk really quickly back to the train station. Carol even forgot where she put here train ticket and had to buy a new one. Luckily, once inside the train she found it (and hence, can get a refund for it). All in all, it was an amazing trip! Thanks to everyone who came with me to Portland, it was a huge succes! Hahaha seriously though. It's the first time I've been out of state, and it was a really nice holiday. It's only been a week since I got back to Auburn, and I'm already looking forward to the next trip! Haha.

I hope this blogpost has somewhat been fun to read, and maybe rather informational. If you're a student at Green River, and you're deciding on where to go for the break... well, Portland is a good place to go!

That's all from me, and BYE!

4E2 is AWESOME!

The IFD games today were awesome! For the 4E2 girls, we lost 2 matches and only won 1 match. But never mind, it was still fun. I played in 2 of the matches and the weird thing is... We lost in both matches that I was playing in. -_- Hahaha, but anyway maybe the opponent was weak or something. But it was fun.

In the first match, we were playing against 4E5. It was supposed to be a draw... But during the extra 2 minutes given, 4E5 managed to score! In the second match, we were playing against 4NE. Vivien got a yellow card... which was weird because I don't think she did anything wrong. We lost 0-1. I don't know about the last match because I was playing frisbee with Yan Ting and Shi Hui. But I think we won 1-0 against 4N2.

On the other hand... The guys placed 2nd! Congratulations! Marcus was the goal keeper, and he played really well! Actually, everybody played well :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Next... Do you know the song "Friday" by Rebecca Black? I used to hate the song, because I seriously didn't really get what's so cool about the song when I first heard it. I mean, it was just a normal song. But then, I heard Tim Whybrow sing the song.... and I actually liked it. Well, I'm not trying to say Rebecca Black's voice is bad or anything, I've heard her sing another song and it doesn't sound so bad. Anyway, take a look at this!

The guy there is Tim Whybrow. I think his cover is better than the original song. Hehehe.

TEEHEE.

My cell phone nearly got confiscated. EEEK

Thank God that didn't happen. Thank God my phone didn't get confiscated. What would my life be without my BlackBerry D': (oke lebay -_-).

Jadi gini, tadi pas lagi Art Council, kita kan dikasih tas tas polos gitu untuk didekor. Pada saat itu, banyak yang make hape. Nggak semua sih, tapi banyak kok. Malah ada yang dengerin lagu pake earphone -_-. Jadi ya udah, aku make hape. Tujuannya nggak munafik atau kenapa napa kok. Cuman untuk nyari gambar untuk ide dekor tas.

Beberapa saat setelah itu, guru A (biasanya baik) kayaknya nangkep seseorang make hape. Trus dia langsung umumin ke semua orang "Don't let me see you use your handphone ah!"

Aku kan make hape gitu kan. Trus tiba-tiba dari kejauhan aku liat guru A jalan ke arahku. Aku udah takut aja tuh dia ngeliat gue make hape. Dan ternyata bener. Dia langsung ngambil hape gue trus ngomogn "I have no choice! You let me see you using your handphone so I will have to confiscate it." Gue langsung diem :o trus bilang "But..." trus dia ngomong "What were you using your handphone for?" trus gue bilang "I was using it to find pictures for the bag!" trus gue tunjukin kan. Trus akhirnya dia ngalah, trus bilang "But next time when you want to use your handphone you must ask permission from me!" Oke deh bos.

But, well yeah, maybe I was wrong. Gue juga seharusnya ijin dulu sih. Tapi sebenernya kalo udah diliat guru B make hape tapi gak diapa apain nggak papa dong? Ah tau ah. The past is the past. Learn from it :)

Oh ya. Art Council hari ini... was surprisingly funner (?) / more fun than usual. Thumbs up for Art Council!

Enjoying a FANTASTIC Holiday!

Hey fellas. Long time no see :D

I've been quite preoccupied for the past few weeks. I'm in Indonesia now... Having a great time. The only problem is, my friends and family in Indonesia are still taking their final exam now. So I'm usually left alone at home, with my Mom. But I guess it's okay. I mean, I still enjoy my time here. I don't live here any more, and I really, really miss Indonesia.

So.. I'm trying to finish all my homeworks now. So that for the remaining weeks I don't have to worry about school anymore. But I've got a little problem here. I lost my Chemistry worksheets! Wait, not only worksheets but also some of my notes. I really don't know where they are now. I think I left them either in my room or downstairs, but I've searched the entire house, and it's nowhere to be found! But what boggles my mind even more is that, around 2 weeks ago I was cleaning up my room, throwing away papers and other stuff that I don't need anymore. I'm worried that I accidentally put my Chemistry worksheets and notes there. *Gulp*.

The next problem is... Well, actually this isn't a big of a deal as the first one. My English homework is to create four summaries and reflections of an article on the Straits Times newspaper (Singaporean newspaper). Since I'm spending the whole holiday in Indonesia... I don't know whether I can buy the newspaper or not. But I was thinking... Maybe I can take some articles from the online website :/ but still, the articles there are not as complete as the ones in the newspaper, and if I'm not mistaken, the instructions clearly say to take it from the magazine :/.

But nevermind, I'm sure I can find a way out. I've finished Geography, Social Studies, Physics and Malay. I've done English, E Maths and A Maths halfway too :D

Enough about school. Oh yeah. On Wednesday, Indonesia beat Malaysia in a soccer game, Indonesia 5-1 Malaysia! I am so proud :) GO INDONESIA!

I guess that's all I'll say today. There are tons of stuff I'm experiencing right now, but I guess I'll tell you guys later. So long for now... Byebye :)

Kita - Sheila On 7

This song reminds me of Darwin. No, not Charles Darwin, I don’t even ‘know’ him. I’ve never met him. The Darwin I meant is my previous class in Indonesia. The classes in my school are named after famous scientists, archaeologists and other famous people, and my class was named after Charles Darwin. But we like to call ourselves ‘Darwewin’. It actually means ‘We win!’ and our form teacher’s name is actually ‘Wiwin’ so it’s like… Similar. Haha.

Okay, well, now we’re on our separate ways and I miss them so much! It’s the best class I’ve ever been in so far. This song just reminds me of Darwin. We were actually planning to sing this song together during graduation, but it was cancelled. Well, never mind :)

Di saat kita bersama
Di waktu kita tertawa
Menangis merenung
Oleh cinta

Kau coba hapuskan rasa
Rasa dimana kau melayang jauh
Dari jiwaku Juga mimpiku

Biarlah, biarlah
Hariku dan harimu
Terbelenggu satu
Oleh ucapan manismu

Reff 1 :

Dan kau bisikkan kata cinta
Kau t’lah percikkan rasa sayang
Pastikan kita seirama
Walau terikat rasa hina

Sekilas kau tampak layu
Jika kau rindukan gelak tawa
Yang warnai Lembar jalan kita
Reguk dan teguklah
Mimpiku dan mimpimu
Terbelenggu satu
Oleh ucapan janjimu

Reff 2 :

Dan kau bisikkan kata cinta
Kau t’lah percikkan rasa sayang
Akankah kita seirama
Saat terikat rasa hina

Alone in This World

Hey fellas. The kids from SMAN 1 Purwakarta have finished their tour, and have gone back to Indonesia *sobs*. When they were here, to tell you the truth… I felt happier. Yeah, really. I live on my own, in a foreign country. Suddenly, some friends from my country paid a visit to where I live. And *poof*! I got a mood boost. It just felt that… I wasn’t alone in this world. It felt like I had someone who shared the same difficulties as me. I just felt happier with their presence. Well, yeah. I’m homesick.

And it’s only been 2 weeks. I think I need to make a change, make more friends.

Anyway, I’m doing quite well on my academics :]. I guess my efforts weren’t wasted at all!

Now, the next challenge is nearing.

COUNTDOWN: 8 more days to FINAL EXAM 2010.

Gosh, I really need to catch up! My goal for the Final Exam…

  • A MATHS: A1
  • E MATHS: A1
  • PHYSICS: A1
  • CHEMISTRY: A1
  • ENGLISH: B3
  • MALAY: A2
  • COMBINED HUMANITIES: A1

Some people see things as they are and ask why. Other dream things that never were and ask why not. What your mind can conceive and believe. It Can Achieve.

It’s better to set high goals and chase ‘em, right?

September Holidays, Day 3 (6th September 2010)

This day wasn’t much of a holiday. Why? Because I had to go to school. Well, not school actually, but to Koufu, a food store near my school. And I was wearing my school uniform, because I was actually planning to go to school, but the plan changed. Anyway, I went there to discuss about the geography presentation (that we need to present on 7th September) with my friends. It only took 30 minutes. And… Guess what? It takes 1 hour to get to school. So I wasted 2 hours only to discuss 30 minutes with my friends. Gahh. But well, never mind. It’s not good either staying at home. I need to go out once in a while.

In the morning, I finished my chemistry homework and tried to do some social studies. It was hard o.o

I guess that’s all to tell. Not really interesting. It was a boring day.

Came back to Indonesia over the 'long' holiday.

Jadinya hari Senin sama Selasa libur!! :D Harusnya hari Rabu sekalian aja libur tuh, kan awal puasa. Tapi sayangnya enggak diliburin T.T ya emang wajar sih, karena disini kan dikit yang Muslim. Ya sudah lah. :(

Jadi hari Jum'at abis pulang sekolah ke Bandara. Nggak langsung sih, soalnya pesawatnya jam 7.10 sedangkan pulang sekolah hari itu jam 11an. Seharusnya kalo hari Jum'at pulangnya jam 12.35, cuman hari itu kan ngerayain Singapore National Day, jadi seharian nggak ada pelajaran gitu deh! :D Untung aja pulangnya nggak kayak biasa. Kalo hari Jum'at biasa, biasanya pulangnya jam 5an, soalnya abis pulang sekolah ada ekskul -_-. Malu kali bawa tas gede-gede gitu. Tapi ya untungnya aja enggak, jadi ya Alhamdulillah deh :)

Jadi sekitar jam 4.20an, berangkat ke bandara. Perjalanan naik MRTnya sekitar 1 jaman, jadi sampe bandara jam 5.20an. Abis itu langsung ke terminal 1, trus check-in. Abis itu, masuk ke imigrasi, abis itu... INTERNETAN DULU DOONG~ Cuman 15 menit sih. Pesawatnya siap berangkat!! :D

Sampe Indonesia sekitar jam 8.30an WIB, tapi lamanya pas di pesawat. Katanya tangga yang mau dipake buat turun dari pesawat masih dipake pesawat lain -_- Beeehh. Jadi ya udah deh. Terpaksa nunggu dulu. Katanya sih 7 menit, tapi ternyata 15 menitan. Kan orang-orang udah pada berdiri-berdiri tuh nunggu pintunya dibuka, pas diumumin lansung pada ngeluh ngeluh semua. Wakakak. Sabar aja yak, bentar lagi puasa, gak boleh marah marah! :p

Pas di imigrasi, aku liat papa! :D Yeay!

Kalo Adam aku beliin Diary of A Wimpy Kid: DOG Days.

Abis aku selesai makan, kita pulang. Dan pas udah di rumah, ya tidur.

Besoknya bangun... Rasanya seneng banget! :D Akhirnya bisa tidur di rumah! :D Tapi hari Sabtunya nggak pergi, karena papa capek, trus mama ada acara sama temennya. Jadi ya yang lain di rumah aja. Aku sih ya main main aja. Ngerjain PR? Oh ya hari Sabtu gue nonton Karate Kid! Keren abis Kung Fu nya haha. Harusnya namanya diganti jadi Kung Fu Kid aja -_-

Hari Minggunya kita ke PIM. Ngerayain ulang tahun Mama. Sebenernya sih masih hari Jum'at, cuman kan hari Jum'at udah gak sama sama lagi :( Udah gitu mama ulang tahunnya nggak di Indonesia, tapi di Singapur karena nemenin aku hehe. Jadi kita rayain hari Minggu. Kita ke PIM, tujuan utamanya nyari kado buat mama. Kadonya yaitu... Cincin. Sampe jam 2 an doang.

Hehehe :D Dan untungnya dapet kaosnya :D Alhamdulillah. Jam 2an, aku ke sekolah. Mau ketemu temen-temen! Yeay! :D Uuu gila seneng banget~ Ketemu (dari urutan ketemunya) Diandra, Kemi, Haris, Rifqi, Ryan, Runi, Anis, Dafni, Reza, Raka, Aris, Meudi, Tayara, (udah gak urutan lagi) Chaca, Saqila, Jessica, Della, Nindy, Idom, Tomo, Dewo, dan lain-lain. (maaf ya yang gak disebutin, susah kalo nyebutin satu-satu hehe) Kita berpeluk-pelukan trus ngobrol-ngobrol. Trus anak Darwin pada nanyain 'Eh kapan nih kita main paintball!' Huaaa jadi gak sabar :D Pingin pingin pingin paintball sama Darwin! Kangen Darwin! Oh iya, pas di sekolah dikagetin sama Mr Fajar -_- Kaget banget hahaha. Oh ya pas di bawah tiba-tiba Dito dateng trus ngajakin salaman -_- kirain pertama kenapa gitu, trus baru sadar. *Oh iya ya kan Rabu udah puasa* trus akhirnya aku bilang 'Mohon maaf lahir batin yaa'. Mukanya Dito aneh ekspresinya pas itu. Wkwk.

Ya pokoknya gitu lah di sekolah. Seru banget. Ketemu anak-anak Darwin dan TR. Aaaaa I miss you guys SO MUCH! I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Hari Selasanya.. Pulang! :'( :'( :'( Ya udah lah. Dijalanin aja. Kayak kata Andrew Matthews 'Happiness is a choice.' Oke deh, I chose to be happy! :D

I MISS DARWEWIN AND THIRD REICH!

"Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over." -Gloria Naylor

"We are friends and I do like to pass the day with you in serious and inconsequential chatter. I wouldn't mind washing up beside you, dusting beside you, reading the back half of the paper while you read the front. We are friends and I would miss you, do miss you and think of you very often." -Jeanette Winterson

"Are you upset little friend? Have you been lying awake worrying? Well, don't worry... I'm here. The flood waters will recede, the famine will end, the sun will shine tomorrow, and I will always be here to take care of you. -Charlie Brown to Snoopy" -Snoopy

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. There is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you." -Winnie The Pooh

I slifed my Lice.

Okay, first of all, let me get things straight.

Nummer een: I do NOT have lice.

Nummer twee: What I mean was 'I sliced my life'. Well, not literally.

Every Friday there's this thing called 'Slice of Life', and some of the students will get picked to share their experiences (related to the school values; PRIDE) with the whole school. So basically, I was chosen for this week. Oh, and Aldwin was chosen too.

My day didn't start really well. I woke up 5 minutes earlier than usual (does this really make a change?), because I was supposed to arrive at school at 7.05 today, to practice for the SoL. I went to school 10 minutes earlier than today, hoping that I would arrive at the bus interchange earlier. Now, here comes the bad news. The bus never came. No, not never, but I mean, because I arrived at the bus stop earlier, I was expecting that another bus would come earlier, but it turned out than it didn't! The same old bus that I always took even arrived late. Grrrhhh. Usually, if I take that bus, I'll be just in time to catch the early bus to school (just in time means running; if I take this bus I'll arrive at school at 7.00am). But now, the bus is late. So that means that I won't arrive at school on time. Oh no. Without any further thinking, I went in the MRT station. I just hoped that the MRT would be faster than the next bus.

When I arrived at Serangoon, I looked at my watch. Oops. It's already 6.45! Arghh, I don't think I'll be able to get there in time! So I went to the passenger office, and I asked 'Are there any taxis out there?' They said, 'Oh yeah, just out there.' So I rushed and went out. I found the taxi pick up point, but all the taxis were just parked out there, and the taxi drivers where nowhere to be seen. Urghh.

At this point of time, I became really pissed off (yeah, I know, it's not that stressful), and I guess if you saw me at that time, you would've thought that I was sort of crazy or something. I was like, walking here and there, and running, and sweating, and.. I bet I looked pretty confused. There was 1 taxi, and that taxi just drove past me without stopping or even looking at me. What the?! I hate you taxi driver! And then, there was this taxi, I was going to run towards the taxi, but another person took that taxi! AAAH! At last, at around 7.00, I finally found a taxi. And... I arrived at school at 7.15. I'm late. And I paid SGD11 for that. LATE + SGD11. My morning had just been ruined.

But, from that point onwards... My day became slightly better. I read my speech, and... Some of my friends and my teachers said my speech was nice. So.. I guess it wasn't bad after all.

That's all I'd like to share with you for today... I hope you enjoyed my post :D

_________________________________________

Good morning Mrs Lim, Ms Thien, Mr Ng, teachers and fellow schoolmates. My name is Indira Pranabudi, and I'm from 3E2. Today, I would like to share with you a poem that has inspired me and kept my spirits up whenever I am down. The title of the poem is "Don't Quit". First of all, let me read to you a few lines from the poem.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

This poem teaches me about how I must keep going on with my life, no matter what happens. Just like the saying, "the show must go on". Whenever I am down and I feel like quitting, I will always think about this poem. Right after that I'll say to myself, "Don't quit! It's not that hard! Keep trying! Don't give up!" and right after that I am getting up again.

The same thing goes to school. Whenever I feel that I'm not smart, or whenever I feel that I can't do something, I will always remember this poem. And then, I will say to myself, "If you want success, never give up. Success will only be achieved if we never quit!" Thanks to this poem, I have made it all this way, and hopefully I will be able to achieve my dreams.

Thank you for listening, I hope my sharing will be able to inspire you, and keep the passion for learning of Pei Hwaians burning!

So here I am.. In Singapore.. Living a whole new life.

Hey all! I haven't been posting for a very long time, and now that I'm here.. I think I'm gonna write a bit about my holiday.

Well.. I didn't really have much fun, I had to go to school (because I have 2 schools), and I also had tuitions. Not much of a holiday huh? Yeah I know -_-"

FAREWELL TRIP TO SUKABUMI

As it was our last year together.. We decided to go to Sukabumi together, one night one day. It was totally fun! Some of the parents came, and we also invited some of the teachers. Oh yeah, wait. One of our members were missing.. Diandra didn't come to the farewell party :( she couldn't come because on that day, she was going to have her school application test.. So, there were a total of 19 students there, but it was still fun. Geez, I really miss Darwin :'( I miss all the fun we had together :'(

THIRD REICH GRADUATION DAY

Graduation day! THIRD REICH GRADUATED 100%! Yeaay! Cheers for THIRD REICH! Go THIRD REICH!

TAMAN SAFARI INDONESIA INDAH

Besides that.. I also went to Taman Safari Indonesia Indah, with my famiy, my grandparents, and my grandma's sister.

There was a very interesting incident in Taman Safari.. I was going to take a photo with a baby leopard (on my own), but then, when I moved my hand (I was going to stroke him), he opened his mouth and tried to bite me! WOW! It nearly did. I was so grateful that he didn't. In the end, I did take a photo with the leopard, but with my dad..

PULAU SERIBU WITH SOEKOTJO FAMILY

On 19th June, we went to Pulau Tidung with my extended family. We were supposed to do a lot of snorkeling there.. But we didn't get a nice place for that, and the weather wasn't really good. So I guess.. We were just unlucky that time.

(This picture was at Muara Angke, the starting point)

Hmm... I guess those are the only major things I did... The rest was all about computer, school, and tuitions. Geez, what a boring holiday -_-" But nevermind, those tuitions will pay off in my studies!

So.. Here I am. I'm in Singapore now. It's been a week. My mom and dad already went home. I won't see my mother until 3 more weeks. Wow, that's quite a long time. :(

Sports Day!

Finally, Sports Day came. I was very nervous. I'm not sure whether I'm fast enough to participate in the 100m run. I don't wanna be the last to cross the finish line -_-. So I talked to Weishan, and she talked to Mr Chong and Mr Beng. And they all said, "Just try your best, have fun." Hmmm tetep aja stress ini -_-

So, at last, I did it. And I wasn't 1st, or 2nd, or 3rd. But I wasn't last either. I think I was 5th or 6th or 7th (out of 11). Well, not bad. But still, it would've been better if I got a medal.

The day went on, and.... 3E2 didn't win any medals. HAHA. Well never mind, at least we had fun. So, this was my first Sports Day experience. Not bad, although it could've been more fun. Well, actually, it was... A little bit boring. I even read a book there -_-, but never mind. Haha

Got to give all I have! Gonna get DISTINCTIONS for my O level!

Here are the results of the Mid Year Exam:

  • Physics: 44 out of 85. Good try :D
  • Chemistry: 35 out of 90. :( but the teacher said that she could see potential inside me! Yeeay, I'll try harder and make all of you proud, just you see!
  • E. Maths P1: I don't know how many marks I got, but Mr Beng said I got A1! Yeay! ALHAMDULILLAH!
I'm actually quite pleased with my results. Well, for a new kid, I think that's quite good hehe :D

And what makes me happier is my E Maths score! A1! Yeeay! I'll try harder, and try to do even better! Especially in A Maths. I have to get the basics right, and I'll be on the right track :)

First week at my new school: Pei Hwa Secondary School

At last this week has came! Well, I wasn't really looking forward to it actually.. Because all I thought about was that 'I'll miss my friends' and nothing else. But well, it turned out that Pei Hwa wasn't bad at all.

I was very very nervous at the first day. I went there by taxi with my mom and my dad, and we arrived at school super fast. We already arrived before 7, and the school starts at around 8.30. Well, of course we didn't know, If we knew that we wouldn't have arrived that fast. But never mind, better to be early than late, especially on the first day of school.

So when we arrived, we met Mr Tan, and then we had a little talk with the VP, she introduced us to Mr Beng, my form teacher, and then she said that the teachers will be having a meeting on every Monday, so the school won't start as early as usual. Well, that's good then :)

We sat at the canteen and waited, and at last Mr Beng came, and then he took me to the class. My class is 3E2, there are 41 students (including me). At first I sat at the back, but then Mr Beng changed my seat with Boon Kuan, so now I'm sitting in the middle.

At the first day, it turned out that there was a NAPFA test after school, and I didn't bring my PE attire! So I had to buy a new set at the school book store -_-. I think I failed one of the tests, the sit & reach test. Hmm it's quite weird actually, becase I think I can reach quite a long distance, and now I failed! Hmm weird. But anyway, I got an A on the shuttle run :D

The next day, it turned out that there was another test! And I didn't bring my PE attire again! Well actually, I already guessed that there will be another test, but it was already too late. I was already on the way to school when I realized that. So at school I had to borrow a PE attire from the general office.

The third day, there wasn't any test anymore, but I still had to bring my PE attire because there was a sport session in the morning. After school there was an English and Social Studies acer. I didn't know at first, so I didn't bring my Social Studies book, but never mind.

On the fourth day, the Mid Year Exams started. The first exam was English. Hmm I didn't know whether I did good or not.. But I hope I will. Anyway, my Mid Year Exam results won't be recorded for the Final Exams, so I'm quite lucky..

The fifth day was the Malay Mid Year Exam. Hmm actually it's not quite hard.. But Malay is different from Indonesian, so I don't know whether my answers were right or not. But anyway, I went home to Indonesia on the fifth day. Monday (3.04.10) is a public holiday, so my father said why don't we go back to Indonesia. Of course I was happy with this invitation! :D

So now I'm in Indonesia, but I'll be going back on Monday. Anyway, the National Exams (UN) will be announced on 7th May!! Wow, I can't wait to see my results.. I hope they're satisfying :D

Happy Birthday My Friend: Della Marissa Setyaningrum

Can't Remember

I wish you something, just can't remember,
Don't be upset, you're my family member.
It was clearly, on my mind,
With so many thoughts, it's hard to find.

Maybe it's simply not that essential,
Please lose that frown, you have so much potential.
On second thought, it might be coming back to me,
Now I know, why those brain pills were free.

Visions appear of colorful balloons,
In the background, I hear those fine tunes.
Near the end of the dream, I can taste a delicious cake,
It must be your birthday, as I awake.

I'm gonna miss Indonesia ;'(

In a matter of 2 or 3 weeks, I'll be moving to Singapore. Aw God, I'm really gonna miss my friends.. I'm gonna miss my life in Indonesia, my friends, my school, my teacher, my cats.. EVERYBODY! I wish I didn't have to move so sudden. But that's the only choice I have for now. I'm gonna miss you guys ;'(

Well, moving to Singapore would be a disadvantage, but an advantage at the same time. Singapore provides better education, and better environment. I can't just skip on this opportunity, and anyway, I can't. I will surely have to move to Singapore, my whole family is moving there. If I chose to stay (which is impossible), I won't have anywhere to live. Well, maybe I can live in Jogja with my grandparents, but it's still the same, the choice is moving to Singapore or moving to Jogja. Well of course I'll chose Singapore. But God has given us this opportunity, this rare opportunity, and I must use this opportunity.

It's a real bummer that I have to move so quick, all that I hope is that I'll enjoy my life there, and that I will use my time and opportunity wisely. And one more thing... I hope we'll visit Jakarta.. I WILL SURELY MISS MY FRIENDS ;'(

Yeah Darwin!

Daaaan..... Darwin pulang membawa 3 piala, sebagai JUARA UMUM! Yeah Darwin! (Hahah pamer)

Hari ini sekolah dimulai dengan upacara. Ah males. Ada yang ngerekam/nge-shoot! Tau tuh dari mana. Udah gitu pengumuman pemenang lomba (lomba-lomba dari luar) lama lagi. Lama banget.

Siap siap apa? Kalo kata Mr. Fine kita lebay. Hahaha

Hasilnya adalah ini :
  • Balap Karung : Medali Emas
  • Makan kerupuk : Medali Emas
  • Tarik tambang : Medali Emas
  • Paku botol : Medali silver (kalo nggak salah)
  • Lempar balon : Medali Emas
  • Peras buah : Medali Emas
Sayangnya, karena lomba paku, kakiku luka. Karena jatoh. Tapi ya sudah lah. It doesn't matter. Bakal sembuh juga.

Pengumuman pemenang dikasih tau jam 2. Udah pada gak sabar gitu deh. Kelas 9 rusuh lagi! Mana Bram nggak behave banget, pamer pamer padahal belom dikasih tau pemenangnya. Halah. Tapi kan akhirnya menang juga..

Dan urgh, besok TO!
